014. Ukulele Case

Completed: Oct 2017

I've recently taken up the Ukulele with my son. However, it came in a shonky cardboard box, which only after a few weeks has seen better days.

I'm therefor building a rough and ready (well, started out that way) wooden case for it.

Basic OSB box, built closed and the a lid saw off.

Covered in some fake leatherette stuff with some nasty contact adhesive.

Planning on holding the uku with some shaped foam.

To give some structural strength a small wooden block was added to hold the uku neck.

The foam is covered in some material.

To cover the really bad upholstery job, I've added some brass corner covers.

Here shown with handle and lid latches.
